kate harnden is a native mainer, raised by the rocky coastline. her mother taught her to knit when she was young and she has been hooked ever since.
her work is driven by the relationship between our surroundings and ourselves. how can the tactility of our garments and our home mirror our needs, our comforts and our heritage? after studying english & art history at kenyon college in ohio for several years, she returned to maine to fulfill her love of working with her hands. she spent the last few years in portland, immersed in textiles and fashion at the maine college of art. she currently resides in portland, maine. |
